Punks, Pins and Tattoos....

Hey peeps, I had JUST enough of this fabric to make a little pouch for my punks (see previous post).
Can you tell this fabric is velour like, it is super soft to the touch, my SIN gave it to me and I love it...

When I told my hubby I was making a card for punks that loved skull tattoos, wonderful man that he is, he came home that afternoon with a box of pins, and these cheap dollar store tattoos....So, here they are integrated on the pouch and the tags...

too much inka-gold glare, sorry about that....thanks for looking....Serene Sunday to you all...xoxooxox

Punk Love

I made this card for a couple that was described to me as : punkish, lots of tattos, love skulls...
who are getting married. So I took out my grunge and went to town !!!

lots of inking, painting. embossing on corrugated cardboard...cut out a piece of fabric , frayed it and glued it behind my skull head heart...

Punched holes, laced a piece of the same fabric added a bunch of beads

Decorated the inside with this Gorgeous Crafty Individuals paper, made a tag using their stamps.

And the back with the knotted fabric...

And the Oscar goes to...

I am  linking this to The Piece by Piece ; the challenge is to transform a dress form...And this is the gift...Now, isn't that tempting !!!

I am at heart a card maker , but I love challenging myself and strive to always be using new techniques and mediums....If I enjoy the process, then it's a successful day, regardless of the outcome...

I painted my canvas black, used some gold rub and buff on the edges and rubbed it here and there (looks a lot tamer IRL), used my beautiful new Crafty Individuals Stamp and embossed with Stampendous "Jeweled Gold"...added some lace..

I cut these flowers out of a gorgeous japanese paper....

I made the flower by twisting and gluing down fabric from a a blouse I wore at my Best Friend's first wedding (yes, she has had several LOL ...just kidding only 2)...leaving a tail....

And my favorite part, my Oscar lady !!!Painted the bodice gold ,embossed it, cut out several pieces of lace for her dress, gave her a neclklace, and wings (Maya Road Scrolls chipboard, painted black and embossed).

For the doily, I used some mica paints, Tim Holtz distress inks and some TA glimmer glaze...

Thanks for visiting....I always appreciate it so much...xoxoxo

Stick pin and dress form challenges....

Good afternoon , I am linking to Bella Creations ; they are asking us to use a stick pin in a project...Easy, Peasy. You should go take a look; I, myself, have only just joined but they are a friendly bunch; they have many different groups so depending on your interest that month, you can choose any of the challenges going on...

I am also linking up to The Piece By Piece; the give away is amazing, and they are a new group so they need participants...The challenge is to transform a dress form...come on, give it a try....

I really had fun making this project, but had a bit of difficulty photographing it due to all the glare.

So, first off, my home made pin with lace...

Next, I applied tissue paper to my lady, then embossed her using Lindy's Stamp Gang Angel gold; I am really
happy with this product. I took a pic before I dressed her up so you could really see the embossing. Then I wrapped her in her dress...

I gave her wings of course, so she would feel free, and a necklace to match her stick pin. Painted up a corrugated background...

I applied the same paper to the canvas, and did a bit of embossing; added this lace which I received from my girlfriend , and the beads I I received from my hubby....

So, here she is...Hope you enjoy her...

Oh what a challenge this was !!!

Nope, not a blog challenge that I found difficult. This challenge was given to be by my best friend : to make a wedding card for her niece with a hockey theme because they are both at school on a hockey scholarship and Hockey is a big part of their relationship...

Oh boy, I thought, this is gonna be tough...So I found these old hockey sticks and the Score that I put in the middle. So, now I could join the Papertrey challenge, which is to get inspired by an old embellishment that has just been gathering dust...

Next I decided to use the team colors of their favorite team,  the Montreal Canadians, Red, White and dark  Blue....Which are colors I do not like...look around my closet and my home, those colors will not pop out at you !!!
Oh, did I mention I dont like Hockey ?

Next I decided to print out a skating rink and decorate that to size....that part was not too bad....
made some flowers, lace lines, glittered lines and so on...

I wanted to use a banner, you know sports, banner....I wanted it to be looped, but I ran out of room...This card is big enough as is, so I put it straight across...Cut out some hearts and glittered them and embossed my letters in blue...I felt HURRAY was appropriate for hockey and as a wedding sentiment...

Can you see the blue ice effect I created using Perfect Pearls spray and Glossy Accents ?

I really hope they love it !!! it was hard to find the balance between tacky/corny and fun ...What do you think ? this is the inside, modge podged some japanese papers, red rafia ( representing the veil), and added a prima card...

My Heart is in my Garden

As you may or may not know, my 50th Birthday is tomorrow, and my hubby gave me money to spend on art supplies...so I have a lot of new goodies to play with.

I made this heart from scratch...Stamping, masking, embossing, glimmer misting ( I am now making my own  with magical micas), rub and buff. Layered the matching  paper used in the card, sprayed my lace to match the heart...

This is an envelope for the card below...

Oh yes, I took this picture in my garden because my beautiful Hemerocallis matched so well with the heart

The Artistic stamper challenge. hot, hot colors...

I dont like this updated blogger  LOL  I find it looks so old fashioned !!!

I am linking this to The Artistic Stamper challenge asking us to use HOT, HOT colors !!!
And of course sharing on Pink Saturday...

So, this is another wedding card for a young couple , late twenties....I wanted to make it romantic, but fun and colorful, as they are.

I take a lot of pics, not because I am full of myself, I just love visuals, and I like looking back at my cards sometimes....

So with that being said, here goes...LOL

Yep, more of that inka-gold....

My husband could not believe I had stamped this...

got some dirt in my pink embossing, not happy....

This is the envelope I made for it...

Wedding Card

My niece, who is 25,  is going to 3 weddings this summer, all couples in their late twenties; kind of nice to see that youngings ;-) still believe in the forever and ever. This card is for a couple she describes as very athletic, who both love the outdoors. I am linking to Top Tip Challenge , the theme is wedding or anniversary

I really had the best of intentions to write "Congrats" on the top of the card, but when I got to that point, it just didn't work. Tell me if you understand....

I wanted to use soft, neutral colors ; I choose this paper because I felt it looked like sand ( or snow)...and I find it romantic and calming...

Glimmer misted my lace to make it darker..

Isn't this button gorgeous ? I added this beautiful stone to represent nature....The side is papier maché with inka-gold (I am addicted to this stuff, I cant stop using it everywhere !!!).

The paper was sprayed with gold glimmer mist ; emphasizing the sand effect....Is this all in my mind, or do you guys see some of these stories I have in my head LOL...

The inside left...

This is the envelope...

Belt it out...

I had so much fun making this card...it is for a carpenter...Check it out...I made the pockets from a Basmati rice bag...cut out strips of leather for the belt...I thought this color was a good idea for a belt, you know that soft leather ....Added a buckle, and just went through my tool box and got out some items....

I was really happy about the outcome of the faux brick...The bottom part is faux hardwood, but its not coming out correctly on the pic...

This is the inside; I wanted the whole thing to feel like wood...and more wood with the Scrabble letters (not my idea, saw someone use this, can't remember who or where ...)

I used paint chips and cut outs of wood furniture and wood  from a paint pamphlet for the envelope ( he is primarly a carpenter, but does a lot of paint jobs...). One of the names on the chips is Forest Glenn, and that is the name of the area he lives in....Yep, I think of everything...it's all in the details...LOL...

sorry about the blurry pictures...dont know whats up with that..

Thanks for taking a peak...xoxoox
