Thank You Cindy.....

The lovely Cindy Adkins has started a new blog  called "Shabby Chic Girls Club" where she introduces us to new artists by showing some of their work, and offering a link to their blog, Isn't that wonderful ? Cindy is so kind and generous to all us bloggers. And guess what ?? She featured my wall hanging below. I was so thrilled and honored. M good friend Lynn from Adorn , whose work I adore, was featured on the same post...It made it even that much more special....

And now, the ever so thoughful Cindy is having a week long seminar "Blogging 101--A Free Online Seminar for Women on her blog "Cindy Adkins Whimsical Musings" .

The multi-talented Cindy has just published these two e-books that can be purchased on Amazon...

Blogging, it's a  "Woman" thing and Blog from the Heart: A womans guide to blogging

Once again Cindy, thank you for everything that you do for this little blogging community of ours....

love and kisses,

G.

Peeling away the layers...

When I saw this inspirational photo at my favorite Shabby Chic Challenge Blog, Let's get ShabbyI fell in love and knew I had to play along...This is the challenge along with the pic...

For our challenge this month, we would like you to be
inspired by the colours
in this gorgeous dinning room

Along with including
Paint and Flowers

Now, unlike others I know (wink, wink), I don't always have a story in my head when I create. This time I did...my base consists of  crepe paper, acrylic white paint used as a wash, patterned paper ( to represent the wallpaper), and some clear embossed paper for a glossier look...more paint, more crepe paper....you get the idea...the paper is ripped , wrinkled...everything left shabby, just as you would find in an old house...

Chandelier image and rolled roses...

Nothing represents home more than a child and her kittie; I made the frame with inks, acrylic paint, scratching the paint, then  adding more...This darling is from Crafty Individuals...

This is the back, I added a stretchy lace so hidden treasures may be stashed back there....do we not always find these in an old home?

And the rest is all those Shabbilicious elements we love; roses, lace, beads, buttons, pearls ...

Thanks for peeking....Have a shabbilicious afternoon...xoxoxo

Shabby Thanks

Hi all, hope you are well....I really had fun making this card...That gorgeous bottom paper is from Prima...
The Shabby chic flower is made by me !!!

This image is from Crafty Individuals, isn't it beautiful; I covered it with Glossy accents; I altered the frame by stamping, embossing, inking and glimmer misting...

And now for my favorite part; stamping and glimmer misting on a piece of bark. Isn't that so cool ?
It took the stamp and the misting very well...

Double Cascading Card...

Over at the Flying Unicorn , the artist of the week is Starr Timmons, The Paper Chase, and we are asked to lift her style or a particular creation.

Starr had made the most beautiful Double Cascading cards, and I could'nt wait to try them out, so I asked her for the pattern. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I did, it was easy squeazy...

Now, this looks nothing like Starr's style; I wanted to make a silly card for one of my girfriends in tazmania that has two children.

So, I came up with this.

From the Top...

And look, it folds right down for shipping...

Just too fun !!!  Thanks for peeking...

Cascading Sweetness..

Hey Peeps, hope you are all well....I am still fighting off my flu, but sneaking in bits and pieces of crafting....
I apologize for all these early x-mas cards, but I have a few orders to fill, so I want to get some made now....

I love this fold, it's so easy, yet so effective....it is called a cascading card, lots of videos on this...

This is what you see when you open the envelope...I silver embossed the edging, made my little tree, adding some wool front and back...

Then you open it up, and it unfolds like this...

I dont have  many christmas supplies, so I recycle old cards and bits and pieces of tags...The sled is a pocket for my scalloped edged circle punch  tag...The mitten tags is bits and pieces of recycled cards...

The tree flattens down for shipping....I am really happy with this card, I think its so cute and cheerful...

Thanks for peeking...

Vintage Cardinal Card

Hi, last night my MIL of 82 years gave me boxes full of her old crafting goods. She says she has made enough cards and paper crafts in her lifetime and she is done with it  LOL...A lot of things I won't use, and I will pass it on to somebody that will, but included in the box were many old Christmas card fronts.
Knowing some of these cards were very old, and seeing someone's crafting history in front of me got me in the mood to make a vintage card. I had so much fun making this...don't be too harsh on me, I am new to this style LOL....

Isn't that image just gorgeous ?

I embossed it, so it has a shiny, icy effect when you tilt it....

One of my home made flowers...

The bark is from my brother's land, and this card is going to a family member, so I thought that was cool...

I am linking these to the challenges going on at BELLAS CREATIONS and FLYING UNICORN...
Go take a peek, they have so many fun challenges going on this month....

Shabby Chic Easel Christmas Card....

Hello there, I feel as if I have not posted for-EVER ...As you can see, I have started my x-mas cards....I know, I know, its darn early, but I have a lot to make, so I figured if I make one a week, I will get there in time !!!

Used the beautiful Webster's Pages diecut paper as my base, and their vellum for the tag....

Made the pink flower from my MS double loop punch,a Prima base, and a big Chunky pink glass center
(Thank you Stella....)

The pocket for the tag, Santas's sleigh, is made from part of a doily, a chipboard painted with Micas ( I just love that blue glimmer) and some funky wool...

Made a 3 dimensional heart , glittered one layer, and a flower from music paper...

There's a lot going on,, but it is after all Shabby and X-mas, so please forgive me LOL...
Thanks for peeking !!!

I am linking to the fabulous Flying Unicorn site....go check them out, so many great challenges this month....
