painting with embossing powder for the CR84 Challenge...

this is such a cool technique.....I painted with acrylics, pink and white, then applied saran wrap to make folds...I then embossed in pink and aqua, moving the powders with my heat gun....

Can you see the Dolphins at the top left corner ??? I wish I could say it was all planned, but it was just a fluke....LOL

I am linking this to the CR84FN53 Challenge which is to use pink, neutral and aqua....

Thanks for peeking....love G.

The Shabby Tea Room Number 111...

Hi there, this is the colour picture inspiration over at TSTR this week, and Starr is asking us to use flowers and lace or ribbon ...

I made a canvas, being influenced by the light, summer time feel of this picture, the mix of flowers, and my hummingbird could not resist flying over for a visit with all those sweets on the table....

My canvas was inked, sprayed, stamped and  embossed...using the blue mauve background colours in the pic...

I embossed the bird in white, used bundled sage and stickles...

Added some ribbon all around the canvas, and across with a bow and beads...

Et voila,

Thanks for peeking...xoxooxox G.

Easy Recipe for texture on a canvas....

I just had to share this easy  and inexpensive way to add texture to a canvas , or paper.
Use a 3 to 1 ratio of gesso and baking soda, spread on canvas, heat till it bubbles....let cool, then stamp ...
I painted lots of layers using micas and acrylic paints...I used 1 main stamp as the focal image, and parts of other stamps for the outsides...I kept the rest simple since I felt this was very busy and it is for hubby, who finds I put way too much on my stuff LOL...

WARNING; this is a pic heavy post....

I am linking to The Stamp Man Challenge, which ask to use a shabby chic or a distressed style...

 Thanks for peeking...Have a great week-end my lovelies....xoxooxox

I just had to play again ...

in The Shabby Tea Room....I just love the inspirational picture, and I had to make a card for a friend who loves pink and aqua, so it was a perfect match..

I embossed this part in white, then inked it with Victorian Velvet...

This area was tripled embossed then stamped into, gold rub and buff was used to bring it out as well as Tattered Rose Ink...

This is a tear out from Melissa Frances paper....and one of my home made flower...

The tag was a freebie from Astrid's artistic efforts...

ok, off to rest for a few days....

kisses to all of you lovelies.... G.

Beautiful Roses...

is the Challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room...When I saw this gorgeous inspirational photo, I knew right away what I was going to use as my focal point....don't you love when that happens...and the colors we must use are pink, aqua and neutrals....so gorgeous...

My best friend sent me this as a birthday card; it is handmade with wool.  I fell in love with it, but wanted to enhance it, since it was on a  plain white background, with no dimensions, so I made a wall hanging... I had mini roses and a little round button that matched perfectly...

I did a lot of distressing and sewing, using Tattered Rose as my ink,  some Prima papers, the Butterfly garden papers (which is the only paper I hoard LOL ). the pearls are used to hang...

Dont you love this button...ummm Yummy....

Have a shabbylicious week my lovelies....xoxoxo

Maman's Sunday Best...

Bonjour mes copines,

When I saw the color challenge over at the CR84FN challenge blog this morning, I was immediately inspired to make another Mother's Day Card....If you follow me, you know how much I love playing with pink !!!

This is what I came up with ....

This gorgeous tag comes from the very generous June at Dezinaworld; she offers all her older images for free and she has such a beautiful collection....she does accept donations....

Happy Sunday my lovelies,   love G.

Hello, this is the picture inspiration at the  LETS GET SHABBY challenge...and the theme is spring or Easter...

Spring is my favorite season; one of the things I love most is the light, and all the fresh green textures, and this is what appealed to me the most in this picture....

I used a Japanese paper to express the play on light....

organza , mini roses, a wooden, embossed butterfly...

I love birds, and spring is the time they come in my gardens and make their nests; the shape of the feather (which has a marvelous luminous shine to it) made me think of how birds go round and round building their nests, and the straw background is another texture that reminded me of nest making...
little brass charm hanging off some pearls...

Et Voila...

Bonne journée mes copines,   xoxooxoxo

Our Creative Corner Challenge...

Hi there, look at this fun challenge over at Our Creative Corner...

My challenge for you this week, is to design a card/project that is inspired by a frilly Easter bonnet.  Use elements that you would put onto your own bonnet, such as lace, flowers, pearls, etc.

This is my interpretation...
