How to resist...

a resist challenge....? Well, I don't, I jump right in. If you know me, you know I love embossing. So I am linking to Lily Pad, challenge is to use any resist technique.  I wanted to make a card for my BF who is going
through a difficult patch.

Lots of stamping, embossing and fussy cutting on this card...

For the front I used the embossing technique to resist my inking.

On the inside I used it to resist my glimmer misting.

On the envelope my ink resisted the water spraying.

Have a great day, Thanks for stopping by....

Stamps used:

Script and Québec stamp ( Thanks Lynne) is Crafty Individuals
The main flower is La Blanche
The sentiment is from Papertrey
The secondary flowers are from Girls Paperie
The inside flower and the upper swirls; sorry, I don't remember...

Embossing powder : Tsukineko White

Inks used are Tim Hotlz distress stains Tattered Rose, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey..

The base paper is Prima.

Glimmer mist is homemade, as well as the stick pin.

Linking to Lily Pad; use any resist technique

Fleurs Fraîches pour le Mur...

Hi, this tiny vase is meant to be worn on your clothes with a fresh flower inserted into it; since I have not worn it for many years, I decided to alter it into a wall hanging. It is 7 x 11 inches....

Just undo the knot (velvet ribbon) pour fresh water, insert a few stems ( this is Anemone September Charm for you gardeners out there; beautiful and  floriferous, but spreads a good 4 x 4 feet).

Stamped and cut out a locket and a key, stamped ribbon several times with the key, border punched the sides with MS double loop punch; added lace and a flower....et Voila !!!

Posting to Flying Unicorn; use stamp in 2 or more ways...
And http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/,,,,,because its pink !!!

Water Stained Pouch

I am fairly new to stamping, and I am having so much fun using all these cool techniques....

First I inked the whole base with a variety of TH colors, then I sprayed with water.

I inked up a Crafty Individuals swirl stamp with embossing ink, sprayed it with water, then stamped....isnt that a cool effect?

For the red flowers, I inked my stamps, sprayed with one of my favorite Perfect Pearls, the ranger
Sunflower Sparkle....

And this is the inside of the card, left side is a PP, right side uses the same techniques as above...

Sometimes all we need is a warm smile and some flowers...

Oh, how I love making flowers...I made these for the first time using a combination of these two videos, but added some lace in some of the layers...and used perfect pearls instead of water...I preferred the second technique...much faster and a nicer look in my humble opinion...

I am linking to Fashionable Stamping Challenge, which is to make your own flowers, and Bella Creations, which is to tie- dye your flowers...

Enjoy...

Carry me to my new home...

This is a pouch envelope I made for my wall hanging...I am linking up to The Flying Unicorn challenge...use stamps in more than 1 way...

Tis will be the piece being carried into the envelope...

"Flower Power" altered envelope,,,

Yes, another envelope...its great to make cards, but I do have to put them in something ...;-)

I made another one of my shabby flowers, one of my all time favorite things to make. I am linking up to Fashionable Stamping Challenge. which is to incorporate a flower into any project...

For my stamping of the flowers, I did the walk and wiggle technique ( put down some different color inks on plastic  and walk and wiggle with your stamp), then spritzed with a mix of mica powder and water. I like the water color effect it gives, but I still need practice !!!

The corner stamp and old script stamps are from Crafty Individuals...I am linking to the Flying Unicorn challenge, which is to use 3 stamps on a LO, card or altered item.

The background is inked with a combination of TH inks, and a bit of spritzing...

Thanks for visiting....see you tomorrow...

Afternoon all. I made a pouch for the wall hanging I made last week.

I am linking this up to  Flying Unicorn. Please check them up, its a marvelous blog. They have an
E-magazine, swaps, a kit of the month, sketches, product reviews, tuts etc. They have numerous monthly challenges, with great prizes, and you can enter as many challenges as you want with one item;  actually they encourage you to challenge yourself to do so.

So, I will be entering, Distress it all Lovely lace, and 3 Stamps...

I used a basmati rice bag as the base, fringed all the edges, sprayed with Ranger Butterscotch Color wash using aTim Holtz mask . made a border to keep my lace in...

I stamped on fabric,  using a Crafty Individuals butterfly and background stamp, the "My friend" is a Papertrey stamp, fringed the edges and adhered to a leftover paper from my butterfly project, distressed the edges. Colored the butterfly in with Lindys Stamp Gang Mica powders...

This is a Magenta stamp, also stamped on fabric, which is distressed with some TH inks,  and coloured in with the micas ( can't get the shine of the micas to come through on my pics ); fringed edges, held down with a stick pin, coloured my lace with the Butterscotch spray...

This is the back...

and this is the wall hanging going in...

Some handmade cards I received...

Hello, I had been waiting for one last b'day card to arrive from Europe before posting this, but it seems that with our strike it has gotten lost in the shuffle;I just wanted to share some of the handmade cards I received for my special day....

This one is from a darling blogging friend of mine from Scotland, Lynne...Isn't this gorgeous ? Can you believe she stamped and colored that image ? It is a small wall hanging. Lynne is a fabulous artist who does Vintage so wonderfully; she is an inspiration to me both as an artist and as a person. She also spoiled me rotten with all sorts of goodies, all packaged with so much care and love....she is so generous, in all senses of the word...

The following card is from Sue Lelli; I saw a post of hers that had one of the most beautiful cards I had ever seen and I made a joking comment saying it was my birthday next month....and she made me this card...isn't that so sweet ? The card has so many wonderful elements to it and an embossed white doily
that is to die for ....

The following is from my sister in law , who is a fabulous artist...isn't this so cool...how imaginative and patient of her to doodle all of this....I am in awe !!!

This is from Elisa, my best friend of 37 years....She bought it from a woman in Vermont who owns a sheep farm, and makes all these great cards from her wool...isn't this amazing ....

And this one is not handmade, but it is from Richard, my soul mate...he always buys me incredible cards and  writes me touching, loving , heart beating messages inside...no, you wont see that part LOL...

more to come....

A little Birdie told me ...

that the lovely Starr, over at the Bella Creations has a VERY tough challenge for us ladies. You must make a  card with 1 flower, 1 button and 1 lace (or rubban). Yes, only 1 of each..YIKES !!!

1 lace, so vintage was out...
1 flower, so for me shabby chic was out...
1 button, ummm. when I use buttons, I uusally use 1 or 5.....

so, I went for this...I kept it very simple for a rustic look...

Isn't that the cutest bird house ? My girlfriend from Tazmania gave me this when she visited last winter
( my winter, her summer :-)  )

I made my little nest with branches, wool, feathers ...and a flower...

Earth Tone Colors Challenge at Bella Creations

Morning, another challenge over at Bella Creations is to use Earth tones on an altered project.  Since I had all those lovely inks and sprays out from my previous piece, I decided to make a gift package and made this small wall hanging....

My favorite seasons in the garden are spring and fall...Fall, for many reasons, and one of them being the magic foliage offers us....So in honor of foliage, I made this....

I kept it very simple, I really wanted the focus to be on the foliage....So I used the same colors and papers as my previous post, with  lots of distressing....

SO hard to photograph shiny embossing !!! I used Lindy's Stamp Gang two tone embossing powder in
Desert Moon Turquoise. I just got this last month and am in LOVE with it...I wish you could see the two tone effect as you shimmer it from side to side....To create this foliage, I stamped (Magenta stamp) heavily for the bottom part, then used the same stamp and embossed on top, but this time more lightly...

Thanks for stopping by...xoxooxox

Bella Creations Spray Ink Challenge

Hey Peeps, Where did July go and where is summer going !!1 Yikes. Bella Creations, a wonderful blog I joined last month is having a Spray Ink challenge, on which a butterfly must be used , no pastels, mostly tones of greens, blues, browns, golds and yellows. Well if there ever was a custom made challenge for me , this would be it !!!

So out came all the spray inks, the DT wants us to list them all so here goes...

Ranger Adirondack Color Wash Butterscotch, Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist Sunflower sparkle, TA glimmer mist Strawberry Shortcake  and some homemade using Lindy's Stamp Gang mica Lucky Shamrock Green.

I wanted to make a large butterfly so I used a chipboard to cut the shape out on watercolor paper then went to town inking, stamping and spritzing...I embossed with Lindy's two tone desert moon turquoise. It is hard to photograph, but it is gorgeous IRL. Gave him some antenna's and some bling for the body, popped him up on dimensionals.

Used the butterscotch to spray my lace...

Made the background with the same sprays...mounted it on this paper that reflected the green, blues and blacks...added beads and Voila !!!

You really should come visit The Bella Creations blog; they have many groups and each has it's own monthly challenges with a random draw for goodies...Later...xoxooxo
