Chiming in the Holidays

Hi friends, Lets Craft and Create has a challenge called Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Bella Creations asks us to take something in our home, alter it for use in our home during the holidays.

I kept this wooden porto crate for ever, knowing I would one day alter it. Well, the day has come !
Here is the pic of it before I got my dirty little hands on it :

And this is how it looks today:

I rubbed it with inka-gold, added some gold glitter here and there, music paper to cover the old labels...

X-mas cluster, x-mas ball, made a big double bow...

And these ( they are straight IRL, they were just dangling from me moving it) are glass ornaments that chime when gently clicked...Cool huh !!!

I will put candles around it come x-mas time; I think it will look beautiful

  1. Oh cool Gisèle, love how you altered your crate, now it's a gorgeous Christmas decoration!! Hugs, Ira

  2. Wow Gisele, this is fabulous. I've got some long glass ornaments in green - now all I have to do is find a crate.
    xxx Hazel.

  3. Gisele, this is such a wonderful project, such a creative way to use the crate!

  4. Hi Gisele, Wonderful idea. What a fabulous transformation! It will look lovely with the candles around it.
    Regards Florence x

  5. Oh my you talented lady, I love your altered box. It is so elegant and will grace your Christmas table! Thanks so much for sharing!

  6. I have no doubt it will look beautiful in your home Gisele.
I always love, love, love seeing altered art and a great idea to photograph the "before".

  7. Oh well done, thats a great transformation! I can just imagine what it will look like when surrounded by candles, all that soft light reflecting of the gold....
