My Heart made Honorable mentions at the LETS GET SAHBBY blog...

I have trouble tooting my own horn. I don't usually talk about my winnings. But why not ? I think it is healthy to do so....so that being said...

I MADE HONORABLE MENTIONS at Let's get Shabby; one of my all time favorite blogs...And yes, I was proud and thrilled...there, I said it...LOL

I called it "Peeling Away The Layers"...

Bag full of love...

I just had to show you this cute little pouch I made for my Victorian card....I just love fraying burlap; I don't know why, I just love it LOL...I used a screen and glimmer misted it...

This is one of the most beautiful piece of lace I have; it is about a foot wide, and the scallops and the Love repeats all over the lace; I cut it out to use on this pouch  ( my BIL is giving to his girlfriend for their 6 year anniversary)...

Romance; I love it !!! xoxooxox

"No madam, your wine is not corked"...

Over at Bella Creations, there is a challenge "No paper stamping". I had to make a card for my SIL, who is turning 50; she loves wine, and my wonderful hubby had bought me two sheets of cork, so I thought "Why not", let's give it a try...

I glimmer misted in various colors, and to my happy suprise it took to it like butter, and it brought out all the veins of the cork; then I embossed and stamped.

this is metal...

For the inside; I am going to print up a wine label, and alter it to have her name on it, year of birth etc.

Have a great day !

Pour l'Amour Des Oiseaux...

If you follow my blog, you know how much I love Crafty Individuals products, as well as their service.
I was lucky enough to win this gorgeous stamp (CI-331) from them, and I could not wait to play with it.
I also wanted to use their stunning new paper pad, " Shades of summer" the kind of paper you don't want to cut into, it is that beautiful.

My BIL asked me to make a romantic card for his GF. "Perfect ", I thought....and they both love birds...

Stamped on PP, inked the dress, added a touch of copper glitter, and a few pearls...

Some bling, flowers, fabric behind my heart, glossy accents on the large roses, chipboard fabric birdie...

Embossed "Mon Amour", and a rose charm...pink velour ribbon and edging...

Hope she loves it; Thanks for peeking !!!   xoxoxo

I am linking this up to their challenge " Winged Things"

And to Flying Unicorn, "Anything but a LO" Challenge

It's all in the presentation...

So I made a pouch and a box for the card and gift from yesterday's post.

I am very happy that my first attempt at a draw string worked out !!! I glimmer misted using a chipboard from Lindy's stamp gang; added some beads, a strap and the draw strings. She is not a girlie girl, so I kept it simple....made a flower to put on the matching gift box...Fun !!!

Picture this..

Hello, how is everyone today ? It's funny how things happen; the day I received these beautiful G45 Communiqué papers that I won  from the extremely generous Alda at the Flying Unicorn, hubby asked me to make a card for his best friend's daughter's Birthday saying she loves photography....

Well, was I a happy card maker !

I prepared my cardboard with paint, inka-gold and gold embossing; I painted and embossed the
 K and Co. Chipboard.

Sprayed my flower with gold GM, added metal leaves...

This is the pull out tag... cool eyes huh ?, crimped the film strip, inked, stamped, embossed, added
inka-gold...and used this gorgeous button my girlfriend sent me...

And on the inside...isn't this flower scrumptious...I just love it...Embossed the HB...

And her name on hanging film strips...you know, like in a darkroom...

Best part ? Hubby, who finds I put too much on most of my cards, LOVED it !!!

oh, and this is one of her gifts...an antique camera lighter, isn't that the coolest; she doesn't smoke, but I am sure she will love it...

Bye, have a fabulous week-end !!! xoxooxox

And a few more altered boxes...

I figured since I had my x-mas goodies out, I would alter a few more boxes for the challenge over at Bellas. All the information is in my previous post if you want to come and join in the fun !!

For this one I made my 3-d tree, added a star, and a ribbon on the side; I love how the ribbon matches beautifully with the paper....

For this one I added gold rub and buff all over; made a criss cross pattern with my double sided tape to apply my glitters, dollar store pearls, an embossed flower and a glittered center !!!

Bye for now,  xoxoox

Getting ready for Christmas...

Hi Peeps, I had a dollar store wooden box, and I decided to alter it for the
challenge going on at Bella Creations,  l'art transformé group.

Alter bags and boxes for the Christmas season; this is the randomly drawn prize...Yummy!!

.

I painted it red, added glitter, used mod podge to adhere tissue paper,( adhering it just right so the button would be in the middle of the bow), took off the wooden knob and replaced it with this gorgeous button, exchanged the rope for this ribbon, added some gold stickers.
I has a lovely rounded shape. Hubby loved it, so his mom's x-mas gift ( money) will be tucked in there.

Come and join us, there are many other challenges going on at the same time....xoxoox

She has not a care in the world!

I received this image as a freebie in my Stampington and Co. mag a while back and finally got around to using her.

Water colored the image, added a touch of glitter, framed her in flower soft...Applied her to a french music sheet, then to this gorgeous fabric...

Added mica powders to my flowers, creating that lovely duo colored shimmer, a few feathers as my foliage, pretty ribbon, a nice big bow,  and Voila.

It reminded me of how much fun I used to have swinging as a child; going as high as the swing would go, then jumping off...competing to see who would jump the furthest ....

Linking up to...you guessed it ...Flying Unicorn...Who, BTW, are having a month long sale, 13% off your whole order...

Thanks for peeking !

L'amour de la Bicyclette

Happy Sunday everyone. My big brother Paul is having a Birthday in a few weeks. His top three passions are Music, Plants ( he is an horticulturist), and Cycling ( he goes on cycling trips in South America and the US).

As I was flipping through my papers, I came across this one from Donna Salazar that had all 3 elements.
It took off from there...

Then I added a Crafty Individuals image "Journey - Seek always"; I thought that was very appropriate for my brother, glittered with 3 colors, my Québec stamp that I love so much, also from CI, antique Bicycle tag, some frayed fabric for the base, and VOILA...xooxox

Bella Creations October Challenge...

Hello, if you read my blog regularly, you know I love Bella Creations. This month, the lovely Starr Timmons came up with a brilliant challenge (listed under Cartes Classique); to make cards for soldiers,  You can enter up to 3 cards for the challenge, but of course you can send and upload as many as you want :) There is a randam draw at the end of the month, and you have a chance to win this.
The shipping adress will be provided later in the month.

Operation Write Home does have a few rules and regulations we must follow, so please read them before you start your cards. You can make cards for the soldier themselves to thank them, but they do mention they are in even greater need for cards that the soldiers can send home for birthdays, anniversaries , Christmas etc.

We take for granted all our wonderful handmade cards, but imagine how special it must be for a soldier to be able to send a beautiful handmade card, and for families and friends to receive them. The cards can be simple, you can even make them identical....it's the handmade part that is important.

My cards are all done , ready to be posted....it would be lovely if some of you joined in.

Thanks for peeking...bisous, G.
